Task 3.2 - Research and Planning

3.2: Analysis of other Opening Sequences in your Genre

The objective of this task is to make sure you are confident with
a) the conventions of the genre in which you are working
b) the conventions of an opening sequence (the first couple of minutes of a film)

We've done an example using
V for Vendetta in class. You may submit V for Vendetta and one other, or 2 examples of your own from your chosen genre.


  • Make 2 blog posts (1 for each opening sequence) and label them clearly:

  • For each example you should cover 4 areas
  1. Titles (3.2.1 on the assignment sheet)
  2. Shot sequence (3.2.2)
  3. Studio and Marketing (3.2.3)
  4. Audience (3.2.4)
